Context & Scope

Worked on thermodynamic modeling of steam systems to support faster and more reliable evaluation of operating conditions in industrial process environments.

Technical Contributions

  • Developed Python-based thermodynamic models implementing IAPWS-IF97 formulations to compute steam properties across operating ranges.

  • Implemented Spline Based Table Lookup (SBTL)-based approaches to improve computational efficiency for repeated property evaluations.

  • Benchmarked model outputs against sensor-based pressure, temperature, and flow data to ensure consistency with real plant operating conditions.

  • Optimized computation pipelines to reduce evaluation time and improve responsiveness for downstream analysis and monitoring tasks.

Key Engineering Considerations

Numerical stability across phase boundaries, accuracy–speed trade-offs, and robustness to noisy sensor inputs guided modeling and validation choices.
